Sheep/Goat Side Pregnancy Tests
We have an exciting product review to share! No idea how long they will be available. They've already gone up in price since I made a purchase, but these are very cost effective and everything you need to do a test is included.
The same company has a cow pregnancy test that claims they are testing for PAG, which is the same thing the BioPRYN tests test for. I suspect this is a cheap Chinese knock off for the Pregnostx tests BioPRYN's recently made available, but since I'm not sure, I'm sharing it.

The instructions are terrible, so these are mine. There are videos for drawing the blood, but once you've got whole blood in the test tube, you want to leave it at body temp or as close to it as you can so the serum will separate. You are only going to use the serum for testing. Just pop off the lid of the vial and use the included pipette to get the serum for the sample. Test number 3 wasn't as well separated and that's why the red kind of ruined the test results.
We were testing an animal known to be open (1), one known to be pregnant (2), two with no known breeding dates that we didn't know if they were pregnant or not. The one labeled with the 3 was exactly 28 days from when she might have been in heat based on a previous heat cycle and a projected heat cycle interval. Right before the red leached into the result, we were concluding that it looked like the B and T lines were both equally present and therefore she should be retested in about a week.
We wrote the names of the animals on the test tubes, wrote a list of the names and assigned each one a number, wrote that number on the sticker that was on the test tube so we could peel them off and afix them to the testing panel. Then we popped off the lids of the test tube and extracted the serum with the included pipette. We put 2-3 drops of the serum on the sample section of the test panel and set an alarm for 20 minutes. When we completed starting the last test we set a stopwatch. The tests must be read between 20-30 minutes after the samples are placed on the panel. This photo was taken 20 minutes after the last sample was put on the test panel and 25 minutes after the first one was dripped into the sample area.
It was so exciting not to have to pay shipping or wait days for the results! ??
