Sapphire goes back to Six M Galaxy Galina Darlene on both the top and bottom of her pedigree and this descendant of beautiful, milky goats managed to out milk every other age mate as a first freshener. We’re very pleased with the length of lactation and the shape and style of her udder, which is very reminiscent to that of her paternal granddam, Sunshine. This doe easily stays in milk as long as someone shows up to milk her, with every lactation over a year long on test.

She was ‘adopted’ as a favorite by a then 5 year old because she is his favorite doe to milk. She jumps up on the milking stand readily and never kicks. She also willingly took over mothering a young wether when paired with him after his dam was sold. Sapphire has already appraised quite a bit higher than her dam at the same age, so it’s been very gratifying to watch her mature and show off the success of our breeding program.
